Creek. Currently under construction at the old Diane's Diner & Diane's Maid
Service location on E. Edgewood Dr. Plans call for a nautical theme with fish nets and
even a boat mounted to the wall. The dining area features both upholstered booths and free
standing tables. A sneak peek at the new menu shows very attractive pricing for lunch and

Lakeland at the Publix Lake Miriam Plaza give or take around July 1st. Tijuana
Flats (a Chain Restaurant) will join the local Independents Tapatito's South,
Pecos, Donna Julia's, Chicano's Tex-Mex & Abuelo's (chain) in the south lakeland area
for Nachos notoriety. |

Pipo's of Tampa has come to Downtown Lakeland. Since 1979 Pipo's has been serving classic Cuban food with two
locations in Tampa. Now local Wayne Harrison brings Pipo's Cuban cuisine to downtown
Lakeland in the old Cask & Barrel location at 115 S. Kentucky Ave. Pipo's has
generations of experience in making the best Roast Pork, Black Beans and Rice and other
Cuban and Latin dishes - Their short but tantalizing menu includes soups, cafe salads,
sweets & pastries, house specialty entree's, signature sandwiches and the daily
"Lunch Deal" for only $6 including Iced Tea. A quick scan of the menu
shows prices from $4 to $8. They'll also be offering take-home diner packages for two
($20) or family of four ($35) including Dessert & Iced Tea. Pipo's should
make a fine addition to Lakeland's downtown dining scene. |

Local Tina Calhoon has opened Fresco's Bakery & Bistro
downtown
Lakeland on S. Kentucky Ave in Joanne List's
old J J's Cafe location. Tina will be serving breakfast & lunch M-F from 7am
to 5pm and 'till 2pm on Saturday.
Her menu ranges from $4 to $8. Breakfast includes traditional eggs, pancakes and omelets,
to "Benedict" selections, Biscuits & Gravy and several breakfast sandwiches.
At lunch you'll find Homemade Soups and Salads plus up to 15 styles of Wraps and at least
10 great sounding Sandwiches. All come with chips, slaw or potato salad & pickle
spear. Fresco's also offers Fresh Baked Daily Desserts, Cookies, Cakes & Pies plus a
full Catering menu. Now, Let's hope they add a Virgin Bloody Mary to the beverage list
to go with the Eggs Benedict... Fresco's adds yet more diversity to the downtown
dining menu. |

Natalie Oldenkamp with years of experience at Hooter's has completely gutted and re-built

standard sports bar menu with a special flare! On a recent Ledger review, Trent Rowe gave
them Three & a Half Stars. Open until midnight Mon-Sat and to 10pm on Sundays
